February may be short, but it's packed with lots of exciting fun and learning in the Keehn household!
Our field trip will be to Chicago where we will visit Navy Pier, have the ultimate Chicago Style pizza showdown, and of course, the reason for the trip, compete at the IGI Chicago Style meet!.
We'll be learning via a reading challenge called I Love to Read: ConnectED Bingo to celebrate "I Love to Read" month! This project was launched by @GustafsonBrad and shared via Twitter/Voxer/blogging - I can't wait for the kids to dig into reading and creating with these challenges in mind, and even better, they'll get to tweet about them as they go to the hashtag #stuconnect! If you are a teacher or just a parent interested in connecting your kids, I highly recommend giving some of these a try! For younger kiddos, I also found this book club bingo game from a couple of great Iowa educators, Leka DeGroot and Michael Ross.
Our making and service project were combined again this month! The kids became chefs as we cooked frozen meals and casseroles for our own freezer, but also to give to family and friends who could really use a night off from cooking dinner!
Wrestling is wrapping up with our final tournament this month, and gymnastics is in full swing as we prep for the IGI Chicago Style gymnastics meet next weekend!
