Kids in the Kitchen

I'm a bit behind, but at the beginning of February the kids and I decided to do our "making" and "service" together by cooking freezer meals for our family and to share with our friends who might have busy schedules or be in a position where a frozen meal might come in handy. I shared the recipes in a previous post, but some of our take aways:
  1. Your hands smell when you work with onions. A used a Pampered Chef chopper to chop them up for our cheeseburger casserole, but that didn't keep the smell away completely!
  2. It takes a long time to cook 12 chicken breasts! R and I got a cooking and chopping system down, but it took a while!
  3. The casseroles took a lot longer to cook than the directions said!
  4. We should have started much earlier in the day, this is time consuming (but worth it) and we ran into bedtime problems.

The kids had a lot of fun taking charge of a recipe, helping with measurements, and now of course eating our creations! And we've been able to share 4 different casseroles so far with friends!
